Welland, Niagara Falls, Thorold, PortColborne and St.Catherine's Professional firefighters working together to donate $7600 to John Hamm from Vaughan Fire who is battling ALS. Our Donation covered an ALS Specific bed that functions on alternate air actuated pressure points and a lift chair. Very proud of all our Locals, great job brothers #ALS

Great work by our Crews who Battled an Apartment Fire on Mill Street last night.  Crews worked quick to knock down the fire and helped to avacuate all occupants. There were no injuries.

On Saturday October 24th, Welland Professional Firefighters were at Zehrs in Welland raising money for Breast Cancer Research. It was a very Successful day and we have now reached a 4 year total of $3500.

Thanks to all who came out and supported our "dress for the Cause" BBQ.  Welland Residents once again have shown how generous they are.

Our members have teamed up with Zehrs in the past to run BBQs to raise money for various charities. Zehrs staff has been great to deal with and help us to be able to get out and fund raise for these great causes" CM

There's been a fatal fire in Welland this morning. Crews were called to a unit of the Northtown Co-operative Housing Complex on Thorold Road. Call came in just before 3:00 am.

On arrival, Command reported smoke showing with a person trapped upstairs. Firefighters entered the building to search for the missing woman, the body of the Women was found, a man was also taken to Welland hospital for treatment.

No names has been released. Officials still don't know what caused the fire. Police have taken the lead in the investigation.

Ontario Fire Marshall's office has also been called in.

Welland Firefighters once again displayed their hard work with a Quick, Aggressive knockdown at a basement fire on Crowland Avenue.  Firefighters arrived to smoke showing and battled the extreme heat while containing the fire to the basement , saving the rest of the house.

The WPFFA hockey team took home the Niagara Paramedic Association charity hockey tournament Trophy this past Wednesday and Thursday! We went 5 and 0 including a great championship game against London EMS that included a penalty shot in the last 10 seconds that Paul Claxton shut down!!
For winning we also received a Cheque for $250 which our team promptly handed back to the organizers to donate to the tournaments charity!Congrats Guys
